HOTBOT is a powerful search engine with links to many specific topics. It comes highly recommended.
Newsgroups mailing lists can be a helpful source of information. Several search engines that will help you locate these are: Deja News brings a Web interface to searching Usernet newspgroups. Just type in a keyword or two and it will find any recent newsgroup posting that relates to your topic. Mailing lists can be located by Liszt which is searchable by a standard keyword interface.
