This aerial photo shows the 1/3 of a mile long facade of the palace and some of the 2,000 acre park behind it. Scattered throughout the park area "fun palaces" such as the Grand Trianon where Louis met his mistresses and joined close friends in an atmosphere of intimacy not possible under the weight of ceremony in the main palace.
