GOALS:

The focus of this course will be on the experience of minority groups in the United States. Lecture and texts will explore the concepts of ethnicity, ethnocentrism, stereotyping, prejudice, discrimination and bigotry in the context of American society. Students will be expected to read the assigned chapters in the texts before they are covered in class. Assigned readings for each week are indicated in the schedule.
